I'm leavin' today...

Yep, that boy
who loves his hometown more than life itself,
is headed out.

He called us from the airport around 6:00 a.m.
We smiled as he reported
what had happened there.

It reminded us why we live here, in...

It's because of ... The Luggage
Ty was worried about the juggling the weight of his luggage because seriously, packing 2 years into two pieces of luggage is a giant feat!

Then he heard Utah say...
"Good Morning Elder!
Let's get those bags on the plane for ya!"
(No need to put them on the scale)

And because of the ... Phone call
Ty was hoping he could figure
out how to use the payphone because
seriously, he's never used one.

Then he heard Utah say...
"Good Morning Elder!
Would you like to use my cell phone
to call home?"
(Businessman, Stranger, Saint)

Well, Tyson sounded
excellent in everyway.
He's so excited to get to New York and
"Start spreadin' the news!"

Ha! Ha! Ha!
In light of that "line", how can I resist
posting the video below?!
I can't, so I will.

Plus, Grandma Hutch thinks the words are so appropriate
and I've gotta agree, you might too...
"Start spreadin' the news..."
"I'm leavin' today... "
"These vagabond shoes..."

I really could go on and on.
In fact, I could teach a lesson using those lyrics.
I won't, but I could.

But one thing I will do is share with you
the the line that almost
ripped the heart out of my chest

"these little town blues..."

Yeah, I cried a little bit when I heard those words.
Ummmmm okay, I may be crying a little bit now.

Speaking of "NEWS"...

Elder Hutchins

Believe it or not,
my emotions are
not in check enough
to blog about
dropping
Tyson off at
the MTC.

So check back.

However, I did want to share something with you.
It's a treasure provided by my dear friend.
Her talent translated
into something that, to me, is absolutely...

Thank you my friend!
I will love you FOREVER!

Heather Kimber can capture your priceless moments too!

Oh and if you want one of those giant missionary tags,
my sweet Carolynn made that for me.
She'll make you one too.

Miracles ...

Did you say Tyson is leaving June 1st?
Like, in 26 days?
And isn't he still in Iowa?

Ummmm...

Panicked?
June 1st was a gift,
sealed up in an envelope,
just for Tyson
from Heavenly Father.

It is what he hoped for
but knew was impossible.

However, we'd forgotten that

I've been struggling to put this
story into words, here on
"my life is open book" blog.

So I prayed about it because,
believe it or not,
I pray about this blog.

It was then I realized these are not my stories to tell.
They belong to Tyson and although my life is open book,
Tyson's is NOT and I try to respect that.
So with that said, I will not tell the intimate details of
the miracles we've witnessed.

But I will leave you with a few "exhibits"
in hopes of accomplishing one goal, being that
you will know without a doubt that

Exhibit A...
Reason would tell you that Tyson's choice to serve a mission would result in the loss of his scholarship and opportunity to play baseball at the collegiate level.

Yeah, REASON would
have you believe that.
Insert miracle here...

"I respect what
you are going to do.
In 2 years, you have a
place on this team."
-Coach Govik
May 2011

Exhibit B...
Reason would tell you that turning in missionary papers
on April 6th will have you departing AFTER the summer months,
a big worry for Tyson.

Yeah, REASON would
have you believe that.
Insert miracle here...

"You will enter the
Missionary
Training Center
on June 1, 2011"
-Pres. Monson
April 2011

Need I go on or do you believe
I'll continue in case you're not quite a believer
and because after-all,
June 1st was not the only miracle sealed up in that envelope.

Remember
NEW YORK?

Exhibit C ...
Reason would tell you that mission calls are random,
that the place you are called to serve has no significance.

Yeah, REASON would
have you believe that.
Insert miracle here...

"Seriously?
You're going to
the SAME mission
where our son is
currently serving?"
-Tyson's
"adopted"
Iowa Family
April 2011

Exhibit D ...
Reason would tell you that youth in ROUGH New York neighborhoods won't be interested in what Ty has to say.

Yeah, REASON would
have you believe that.
Insert miracle here...

"Hey Dude,
Are you a Mormon?
I live in the Bronx.
Can you answer
some questions for me?
 -Random Kid on xbox live
December 2010

Exhibit E ...
Reason would tell you that in this day and age, mother's don't know anything.

Yeah, REASON would
have you believe that.
Insert miracle here...

"My prediction for
Tyson's mission call?
New York!"
-Krista Hutchins
April 2011

Need I go on? ... because I can.
Okay, just one more for good measure.

Exhibit F ...
Reason would tell you that Father-in-Heaven couldn't possibly know or CARE about the TINY in's and out's of our lives.

Yeah, REASON would
have you believe that.
Insert miracle here...

Well, look
who's
"Side by Side"
again!

Ummmm yeah...
So if you don't believe, you should.

One last anecdote to
leave you with a smile...

Maddie:
"Abby, where is Tyson going
on his mission?"
Abby:
 "New Yoke!  New Yoke!"

Oh... and if my last 3 posts left you completely in the dark,
you can find out more by
