Great Job Guys!

Forever & Forever in Tooele...

NOT!

Today Tooele is coming to town to play a little

baseball.
It will be a game like no other.

They'll be a lot of everything that comes with
a good, deep-rooted rivalry
Yelling ... Taunting ... Name Calling
You've got to LOVE IT!

There will be many who will
leave work early to
witness the madness!

They'll come in their Cowboy RED
or, heaven forbid,
their Tooele PURPLE.

Tooele Fans THINK they bleed purple but in reality,
NO ONE bleeds purple.
Some veins may look purple on the surface but when you cut them open and look
deep inside
EVERYONE bleeds RED.

Ty and Dill had to wear that purple at one point in their lives.
They looked ... odd.
However, it was a necessary evil at the time

But at the end of the day
when loyalty comes into play...
They're livin' and dreamin' and fightin' the Grantsville Cowboy way!

Because a
COWBOY
is a
COWBOY

Whereas in Tooele...
a "Buff" may be a "Tiger"
Who's to say? They do sing,
"Here's a TIGER to Tooele High!"
I'm not sure who they are!

However, you'll find
no confusion in these parts
We know who we are...
"We are proud of
our lads and our lasses
Of honors won
in days gone by
So here's a cheer
for our old high school,
For our old high school,
our Grantsville High."

GO COWBOYS!!

Look at these two
... Tyson and Taylor ...
They wore the purple as
little boys
but they wear the RED as
MEN!

Today it's only LOVE thing ...

Tyson's last "Opening Day" was gorgeous.
We did indeed ALL smile.

Today the tears are gone, leaving
just happiness and GRATITUDE
for this life which allows us to have
PASSION.

Even though I know this season must inevitably come to an end, I will enjoy the ride and I will...
SMILE
all the way!

Ty made this recruiting video when he was a sophomore.
It's fun to watch. So turn up your volume and

enjoy a day at the ballpark.

It's a LOVE/HATE thing...

The HATE started
the day Ty became
a SENIOR.
I cried when he left
for school.
I knew it would be his last...
"First Day".

Then he put on that
uniform
He chose to make this year
different.
He gave all he had.
That's when the LOVE
kicked in.

It was then
I realized that when you're cheering for a
SENIOR
it's different.
It's something more.
It's something deeper.
I LOVED every,
single, solitary
minute of it!

That was, until
I arrived in Park City.
I knew it would end there.
I cried.
He cried.
Dad cried.
Coach cried.

Through our tears
we learned an
unavoidable truth...

If you allow a season
to begin
you must also allow
it to end.

The HATE of today began on that tearful day,
4 months ago.

Today my son is a
SENIOR baseball player.
I cried when he left.
He was in his red, white and black
with "Cowboys" displayed across his chest.
I know today is his last...
"Opening Day".

However, I also know...
He will smile from the dugout.
He will smile from the field.
He will smile when he stands to bat.
He will smile when he slides into home.

He will smile today because
BASEBALL
is what he LOVES.

And because he will smile...
I will smile
Dad will smile
We will smile together
simply because
he is what we
LOVE.

GO COWBOYS!!
Isn't it ironic that we ended football against Park City
and we're starting baseball against them?

We have a Leprechaun... don't ya know!

Do ya know our Dillon?
If so, ya know he's not a real leprechaun
but often dances like I imagine one would.

If you're around him long enough,
you're guaranteed to get a similar, yet LIVE
rendition of the performance below.

Almost everyone who knows our leprechaun
has been given some fabulous version of this
rare, precious and priceless gift.
I'm lucky enough to get it everyday.

Luck of the Irish to ya!

Monday-nnnnnnnnnn.

You can view Monday one of two ways...

ONE ... Oh, it's Monday.
My life is so Monday-nnnnnnn!

(mundane)
or
TWO ... Oh, it's Monday!
I can start anew.

I wonder which one I'm leaning towards today.

Friday I shut the laundry room door.
ALL the laundry was
washed, folded and put away.
Today, 2 days later
(one of those days being Sunday with not much changing of clothes),
I opened my laundry room door to this ...

"I do only have 2 children, right?"

I wandered around checking for evidence...

I counted beds ... 2
I counted closets ... 2
I counted toothbrushes ... 2
and yes, there are indeed
only 2 children living here.

"How do 2 children do this?"

Then I remembered the teenage
SOCIAL SCENE!
The days when every weekend is "Starting Anew"...

New games.
New movies.
New plans.
New get-togethers.
New fun.

Their "NEW life" leads to my every Monday being...
Monday-nnnnnnn.

After a moment of staring at the laundry room floor in shock and awe I said,
"It's okay. I'll take it!"

Because the mundane-ness of it all means there are 2 boys who get to have new JOY every week.

Not to mention it is proof they still live with me and I need to proof because their actual faces are rarely seen... you know, because they have "a life" .

I realized (while filling the washing machine for the billionth time) that soon enough I'll just be washing old man socks and old woman flannel pajamas.

I'll start "anew" when that day comes.
For now, I'm happy with the
MONDAY-NNNNNNNNNN.

Plus, uniforms are more of a challenge to get clean than old woman pajamas!

Oh wait, if I know that to be true does that mean I'm ALREADY washing old woman pajamas?!

DANG!!
