A warm heart and a DRY HEAD to match!

Once again...
why do I live in
this small town?

Because this morning I put out a call for canopies to cover the die hard Cowboy Fans during Fan Fest. Within 1 hours I had over 10!
Awe, it warms my heart.

Rivalry doesn't mix with RAIN.

Rain, Rain go away...
don't you know we're playing Tooele
TODAY!

Grandpa Hutch used to be an old "Buff".
He has since changed his colors!
Funny what a pretty girl wearing RED can do to a guy.

Say Cheese ... LOUISE!

Let me share with you my life as a photographer...

Keep in mind that all I wanted was
ONE SHOT!
Needless to say, I never got it.

Watch the madness unfold...

GEEZ-LOUISE!

A picture says a million words.

Doctrine and Covenants 10:5
Pray always, that you may come off conqueror;

Of all the pictures I've ever taken, these are my FAVORITE.

The ironic thing is, neither Tyson nor Dillon conquered their opponent the day these pictures were snapped.

However, THEY and so many others
who run on football fields...
play in marching bands...
cheer on sidelines...
yell in bleachers...
stand side by side on brisk Friday Nights...
so many of those youth are successful in
conquering the biggest opponent of all.

Pray always, that you may come off conqueror;
yea, that you may conquer Satan,
and that you may escape the hands of the servants of Satan
that do uphold his work.

Doctrine and Covenants 10:5

--------------------

So often we hear these days what trouble our youth are in.
I say they are doing
just fine.

Simple JOY.

As of late, a moment when Ty and Dill are together is a RARE one.
But they caught a moment today and when I saw it,
it made me smile.

Two boys...
Exhausted from school...
Exhausted from football...
A moment to just chill...
TOGETHER.

Awe. Simple joys.

Jump UP... it's Monday morning!

Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says,
"Oh crap, she's up!"

Small Ball

Dillon hates it when I call him "small one" or (especially) "my baby". However, it will never change. No matter how old he gets, he will always be my baby.

As exciting as GHS Football has been, Grantsville "Small Ball" (a.k.a Little League) has been just as exciting. Again, due to Stansbury getting it's own Little League program we lost WELL OVER half of the kids in our program. We have much smaller teams and in turn, new opportunities for everyone! Dillon has taken advantage of the opportunity to "Z Down".

Note that he had to be a "small one" to be able to do this. He had to weigh 10 pounds under the weight limit for the kids a year younger than him. Oh, I wish he wasn't such a picky eater! Look at the size of his legs compared to the other boys. I feel such guilt! Oh sorry... got off on a tangent. Back to the "Z Down".

He and his best friend, Dallin are playing on the A team of the kids a year younger. Dillon is playing quarterback. Therefore, he's had ample opportunity to throw a few passes to Dall. So far it's been a great season for them, with a bright future in sight!

We're proud of Dillon for choosing to do what HE wanted to do. He has such a good sense of where he wants to be in life. Have I mentioned I want to grown up to be like him someday?

Is "small ball" having a Fan Fest? Ummm yes. They'll be tailgating this Friday. Wouldn't you? Look at all the girls!

Oh, the fun never ends!

Small Town Football

Imagine building a fire.
You gather the things needed.
Put them under intense heat.
At first it smolders.
Slowly a small flame is seen.
Then it bursts into bright light
becoming all it was meant to be.

That is what is happening
in this place, where I live.
GHS is bursting forth!

With the opening of Stansbury High School this year, we've become somewhat of a "small flame". Our school population was cut by more than half. It's been stressful but has slowly turned into the most exciting year in recent history.

Grantsville High School has had the wonderful opportunity of returning to a "Small Town School". Life is how it was "back in the day" and I must say my heart is swelling with pride as joyful tears often run down my cheeks.

Cowboy Football has been the center of this transformation. The coaching staff of 14 is united and ready to move forward. The 14 returning seniors are tight knit and working to make this new year a new beginning for GHS. Their sense of unity has united us all.

I've had the opportunity to dig in and get my hands dirty. It's been an honor to plan BBQ's, dinners, treats, rallies and especially manage the team blog. The spirit here is electric and contagious... I just can't help myself and it seems that no one else can either!

The greatest of all the excitement is Friday Night FAN FEST! We've had GHS alumni volunteer their bands to play for us. You'll find food, tailgating, dancing, singing, face painting, haircutting (yes, you heard me right), fan gear, really anything and everything you can image. But the most important thing you'll find is COWBOY SPIRIT. It is running rampant in this little town and all I can say is...

Welcome back
Grantsville High School.
Welcome Back.

Come join us,
I'll BBQ you a
hot dog!

So much to do...

SO TIRED!

I really should change the picture on that header up there. None of us look like that anymore. Heck, my Dillon is taller than I am and Tyson is now towering over his dad. And I should update the slide show. It hasn't been added to since I started this blog. But I'm to tired. Maybe another day. Stay tuned, you never know when that burst of energy will show up! Pray it'll show up SOON!

It's not all about ME...

sometimes it's about the mayo!

I made a beautiful looking ham sandwich for lunch today. Took a bite and thought, "Hummm, this tastes a little odd." The second bite was so odd I didn't finish. As I began to clean up the thought came to me, "Check the date on the Miracle Whip" It seemed like a reasonable thought since I had just brought it up from the basement food storage. Suddenly, the "oddness" of it all made sense.
Check out the date...

Yes, it does say March 18 ... 2004

I've been blogging!

I've had strangers on the street ask me if
I've abandoned the world of blogging.
(Should this this scare me?)
Well, the answer to abandonment is NO.
I have been blogging ... just not here.

My blogging hours
(a.k.a "work hours" ... oh wait, I'm mostly not being paid)
have been spent here:

Tooele County Showcase of Homes
AND
Cowboy Football
AND
Cowboy Football Fans
AND
Cowboy Baseball
AND
Cowboy Volleyball
AND
Cowboy Basketball

However, I am now returning to
3 Boys and a Girl

Because I've missed you.
Because I have much to report.
Because Dillon is mad at me.
