Football is a CIRCUS!

The standings for Region 11 FOOTBALL are as follows:
*The quotes are so you can get a feel for the atmosphere I'm living in ...
there's a little anger in the air.

1st -- Morgan
"I can't stand these people." -Dill Hutchins
("Amen" from Tyson and Grandpa Johns)
2nd -- Logan
"I don't like Logan." -Dar Childs
(edited for your reading enjoyment)
3rd -- Ogden
4th -- Everyone Else

Due to the mess in 4th place... there will now be
"A CIRCUS"
taking place on Tuesday. Grantsville, Ben Lomond and Bear River will play a series of halves to see who will go into the playoffs in 4th.
Come on Grantsville...
COWBOYS UP!!

School Uniforms are RED

I love Friday because it's the day my boys wear their
School Uniforms
They walk out the door each week looking like this and reminding me why I live in this small town.

As I dropped Dillon off at the Jr. High last week I took a peek in the glass doors. The halls were flooded with RED. I knew if I were to go to the elementary schools, I would find the exact same thing. For you see, in this place, every boy wears his football jersey to school on Friday. It doesn't matter if he is in pre-school or high school...
the PRIDE is all the same.

Oh how I love it here...especially on a Friday.

The PAINS of Halloween

So many of have expressed your love for
HALLOWEEN... I DON'T GET IT!!
To me, it is a PAIN!
Tell me that someone out there agrees!

1st ... The COSTUMES.
You know, the homemade kind that "good mothers" sew. However, NEWSFLASH, I don't sew and it PAINS me (but I don't desire to learn)!

2nd ... The TREATS.
To many, not enough, to many... you just can't ever gage it. In my opinion there ought to be some ground rules that go like this: If you go to a house one year, you must go to that house every year because they have a special treat for you and if you don't go they will have an excess of special treats that took a long time to put together plus it PAINS the "hander-outer" to not see your cute homemade costume. Oh my, sorry about that little rant. I underestimated my passion.

3rd ... The PUMPKINS.
The worst things ever invented was that kit with the special cut-outs that only look like something when you turn the lights out. You know the kind, that take HOURS to carve and require PAIN-staking precision! Oh yes, the 3 boys I live with have taken on this task. Here are some samples of their work with the crowning jewel being "Napoleon Dynamite" (picture #1).
Notice that MY pumpkin is the one with all the little holes in it. All it took was 15 minutes and the drill. No pain-staking precision involved!

I've got to admit though, once the
3 PAINS are completed... homemade costume PURCHASED, special treats packaged and
one-of-a-kind pumpkins carved... well, then
HALLOWEEN is FABULOUS!
For that is when the family shows up!

Here is a little on-line HALLOWEEN fun for the kiddies and adults, as well. Enjoy and
Happy Haunting!

Boy's don't do that.

Do you like Ty's new injury?
He is proud. He hopes it SCARS to show proof of the kind of player he is...
Tough. Fearless. Heartfelt. Passionate. Cowboy Tough.
Does it hurt?
Well, I don't know. I didn't think to ask. After all there's no blood, therefore no need to panic. Right?
Am I freaked out?
No. I've seen so much worse. I grew up with 6 brothers... enough said.
Now, when I have little girl visitors who cry for no apparent reason ... well, then I freak out a little. For you see...
boys don't do that.

THE GAME OF LIFE

So, I have a new game. I made it up just today. I call it...
THE GAME OF (someone else's) LIFE
I may market it... but probably not.

The rules are simple:
1 - Go to the list of your "blog friends".
2 - Click on the first blog listed.
3 - Click on the 1st blog of their "blog friends".
4 - Continue in this fashion for as long as desired.
The game is over when you come full circle
by making your way back to a blog of someone you know.

Did I have fun playing... yes.
Did I feel like a stalker... yes.
Did I visit another country... yes.
Did I waste a lot of time... yes.
Did I win the game... no.
Will I play again... yes.
Will I win someday... I will.

You know you want to play. Let me know when you win!

PAIN ... to much to handle.

I can't face the truth... I can't believe it is true...
I can't bare to let this relationship end...
We haven't had enough time together...

But alas, I must. For my beloved
ChOCoLaTe
is filling my mouth with canker's.

Goodbye, Dear Friend. Goodbye.
If only you could have loved me as I loved you.

4th of the 4th

Natalie had this darling TAG on her blog and I loved it!
This is how you play: Go to your pictures then take the 4th folder and the 4th picture in that folder... and post.

This is what I found in my 4th of the 4th...
Tyson and Dillon in the Spring of 2006.
This is the day Tyson graduated from Jr. High.
He is pictured with an ity-bity Dilly.
Oh how they've grown up (tear, tear).

Play along with us... I tag YOU!

Our own Politician...

Congratulations
are in order for
HUMMER...
He has been choosen to serve on the GYC !!
(a.k.a. Government's Youth Council)
-----------
Way to go Dill!

Something must be wrong...

I've been complaining lately about
how tired I am during the day.

Could it be my Thyroid?
I'm probably getting sick.
I have been chasing my boys around a lot.
Maybe it's the change in the weather.

OR ...

Could it be that I am up all night on this blog?!
Hummm... could be!

-Krista here, signing off at 3:00 a.m.

Erased... say it's not so!

My blog finally reached more than
6000 "PEEKS"...
But now my counter has dropped back to
ZERO!

Why? Oh, Why? ... I am sooooooo bummed out!

UPDATE:
So I was able to find another counter that let me start from 6000 instead of zero. It is a little sad that I won't have an exact count but it will work! Not sooooooo bummed out anymore, just a little! :)

Love Ya Forever Em!!

Homecoming '08

This past week GHS celebrated HOMECOMING!
We had a busy time but it was great fun.
Lots of wonderful memories were made.
Join us for the adventure...

Sporting #10 ... Tyson Hutchins
Our first official GHS Cowboy.

The week kicks off with
The Powder Puff Game.
Tyson and Austin are the coaches of the Junior Class. They were undefeated going into the game. I won't elaborate... I'll just mention that they no longer hold this record. (This writing is small because we are not talking about this.)

The Pep Assembly was next on the agenda. It was fun. The team all came in their "best dress" to prepare for "The Funeral". So great to be in high school!

Here is Ty with his annual Homecoming Care Package from Mom and Dad. It is filled with a few of his favorite things. Uncle Mark delivered it to him in Seminary.

Homecoming isn't homecoming without a little (or a lot) of FACE PAINTING. This is Dillon and Dallin. In case you are wondering... this is done with a SHARPIE! Oh, don't faint. It really does wash right off!

The PARADE is next. It lasts about 15 minutes but it's fun. We always watch at Grandma and Grandpa Johns' house. This is the
Football Team.

Aren't the cheerleaders cute? Our niece, Ally is the smiling blond on the end. She really is as sweet as she looks.

The pre-game TAILGATE PARTY was delicious. This is Grandma and Grandpa Hutch with Grandpa Johns'. Shortly after this picture the rain came down and was on/off all through the game.

To the delight of a packed stadium...
Here come the Cowboys...
BACK IN BLACK!

Ty had well over 40 fans supporting him on this night... however, none could ease the heartbreak.

Our 2 boys/best friends.
Each feels the other's pain
We Love You Ty!

Awe, don't be sad... Homecoming isn't all about Football you know! There were more festivities on Saturday and it brought SMILES back to those in despair. Read on...

Tyson asked Sadie Hale to the Homecoming Dance. Don't they look fabulous? This event was Sadie's first date ... how fun is that?!

The day began at 11:00 a.m. as they all headed for Jump on It in Lindon to PLAY. They had a great time and stopped at Wendy's on the way home for a quick snack.

Small PROBLEM though... pouring rain!! This set the time table back about an hour (or two) but I don't think anyone cared... they were having such a ball.

After the fun, everyone returned home to get ready for the dance. Then it was back in Salt Lake (in the rain) for dinner. They went to Little America and had an adventure trying to understand their little Chinese waitress. Luckily Tyson had been there before so he knew the drill.

The dinner was lovely and they headed back to Grantsville for the dance... which proved to be a BOMB. They stayed long enough to have their pictures taken then ditched it.

Back home to change clothes. Then over to our house for the chocolate bar and a movie (more like a nap). The kids were really tired ... wonder why? It all wrapped up about 1:30 am.

Here they are: Austin Butler and Melissa Baird, Taylor Matthews and Makenna Branch, Tyson and Sadie.

Little Dilly-Bob was banned to the bedroom and told not to come out.

Didn't I say earlier that he and Ty were best friends? I guess that wouldn't apply in every situation... Tyson is not feeling his pain! However, notice that Dill didn't exit without a visit to the chocolate bar!

It was a busy, fun and altogether GREAT week.
Once again, a sweet reminder of what
I love about my small town!
Happy Homecoming!
