Missing EGGS!

A few hours ago my son drove away, headed to Promenade Practice. It is now 10:30 p.m. and he still isn't home. Hummm... I wonder where he could be.

Should I be worried that these are missing from my fridge? Somehow I'm not, not worried at all. Oh how fun to live in this small town!

FYI for those of you who are wondering what in the world I am talking about. The Juniors are learning a special dance number for The Prom (a.k.a "The Promenade"). After practice, the Juniors and the Seniors engage in a favortie GHS tradition ... EGGING! The Juniors against the Seniors, of course. This acticity will take place every weeknight until April 18th. As I explain it to you... it sounds odd, strangely odd. Isn't it funny how doing things in "The Name of Tradition" makes them oddly FABULOUS!

Monday Morning Scrubbing

Is this YOU on this Monday morning?
Let me offer a little tid-bit of relief...
DON'T SCRUB YOUR
MICROWAVE!
Just fill a glass with hot water...
Place it in the microwave...
Cook on high for 3 minutes...
Open and wipe clean!
The steam from the water does all the work!
Happy Monday!

Live for NOW

This post is dedicated
to my
first born son...

Tyson.

He has an eye single to...
BASEBALL!

He talks of it...
He dreams of it...
He practices it...
He plays it...

EVERYDAY!

Right now, Tyson's life is a dream come true. However, it's the dream he had in little league. He now has new dreams ... dreams of college and scholarships (good dreams). But my prayer for him is that he can enjoy the 8 year old, little league, dream that is now coming true right before his eyes.

Dreams of:
-Playing on the GHS home field
-Playing in that red, white and black uniform
-Playing with the roar of the crowd chanting his name
-Playing with his best friends
-Playing for a coach whom he admires
-Playing for his family, who is at every game
-Playing for teeny-tiny fans who proclaim, "There's Tyson!"
-Playing as a Letterman for GHS
-Playing as a leader on the team
-Playing in, his favorite, #10
-Playing to represent Grantsville High School

... just playing.

Today, my hope for Tyson is that he will realize these are

"THE GLORY DAYS"

They will not last long and soon they will be gone, forever. College will come and who knows what else, but nothing will ever be able to replace the GLORY DAYS of high school.

GLORY, TYSON
GLORY in these moments.
The future will come quick enough.
Live for NOW!
Live for...
COWBOYS BASEBALL!

The Lord will take care of tomorrow.
I promise. -Love, Mom

The REAL Problem

Do you ever feel that when your child says, "Mom, I don't know how to do this math problem ... maybe "the problem" isn't the math at all?

But "the problem" may be the simple fact that your child wants you to sit down with them while they do the math?

I've been feeling a little like this, although it's taken me months to figure it out. But now that I have, I'm good with it... I'll sit.

Swinging until August

LOOK what has arrived in the mail...

Do you know what that means?
The chairs, the gloves, the coats, the blankets, the umbrellas and the score book are all in the trunk of my car, not to be removed until... August!

Baseball is now, OFFICIALLY, in full swing. We are starting out with "only" 4 games this week (Dill hasn't started yet).

I can't help but feel excited when I see these gorgeous smiles. What fun it is to watch someone enjoy what they feel so absolutely PASSIONATE about!

Good Luck COWBOYS
and Good Luck Hutchins-boys!

The Battle

Just a little snippet from Sunday School...

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between 2 ‘wolves’ inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealously, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity,guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
“Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied,
“The one you feed.”

Where are you going for dinner?

If you could choose to eat ANYWHERE
what would your choice be?

Tyson would most certainly choose
STEAK and Shrimp

Dillon will always choose eating on
a PLATE over a bag

Me? Well, I perfer a tablecloth
and a CLOTH napkin.

But Jeff ...
He will take a paper bag, a paper napkin and
a "double-double" everytime!

Dear St. George,

How I hate your dark, red dirt. I soak, I spray, I soak again but still you choose to stay. Take a lesson from your brothers up North. They have chosen NOT to live their lives cooped up in the pants of baseball boys. They have chosen to leave and return to live in the natural habitat. Follow them St. George dirt... follow them! You will be happier and so will I.

Frustratingly Yours,
Krista

P.S. And another thing. Why do you put little holes in brand new baseball pants? Has enduring the hot summer sun made you angry... bitter?

Sociable-ing?

Will you be joining us for The Sociable this year?

Oh come on, join in! We lined up the bands ourselves, so it should be a rockin' good time!
Plus, it will be the
20th Anniversary
of our very
first date.

Where goes the TOES?

Have you ever felt like you were "drowning"
but there was no lifeguard to save you?
I have ... lately. I don't really know why.
Maybe it's trying to find that balance between being a
"good mom" and a "nice mom".
Maybe it's the realization that within the next few days
all of my waking moments will be consumed with
baseball (love it but it's exhausting). Maybe it's just simply...
the weather.
Whatever the reason,a lifeguard looked at me one day and said,"You want to come along with me?" I longingly answered,"Oh PLEASE! Take me. Take me with you!" And he did.

I loaded my suitcase full of flip-flops with an extra spring in my step. I turned my toes on the cold and entered into ... HEAVEN!

As much as I wanted to, my lifeguard assured me that it wasn't safe for my toes to be present for this particular photo. Since he was trying to save me, I listened.
The the last night .. if toes could cry, mine would have.  For they knew that in only a few short hours they would, again, be covered with sock and shoes as they headed back to the airport.

And ... we're home.
Lifeguard, come back!!
I need more saving!
Lifeguard!
Lifeguard!
Lifeguard!
Lifeguard!
Lifeguard!

Enjoy your disposable diapers.

Let me introduce you to the number of hangers my 17 year old son emptied last week. Keep in mind that his undershirts, jeans, sweatshirts, sweats, Under Armour and baseball pants (ALL of which are worn daily)
do NOT have hangers...

You say you can't tell how many there are?
Allow me count them for you...
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 ... 33.

Are you asking yourself how this is possible?
Hummmm, so am I.

Dearest Blog Friends...

THANKS for stopping by to check on me and my fam! It makes me smile when my counter gets another number on it... and it makes me giggle when you leave a comment. Sometimes, as a stay-at-home mom, you feel like you live in a bubble. Somehow having this blog has made me feel like I'm interacting with the world. Does that sound pathetic or what?! Oh well, I don't care. It's true. So THANKS for being my on-line pals!

On another note (completely)... I just wanted to let you know that the GHS Baseball is offering a fairly inexpensive way for you to advertise for your business (or your husbands business). For more information CLICK HERE. If you leave me a comment, I will send Tyson over with a letter. If you choose to call the coach just tell him I sent you!

Happy Day to one and all!

Bye-Bye Board Boy

My oldest sons has been the MENACE of Utah High School Girls Basketball for the past 3 months. How does he do it? With a simple WHITE BOARD. Does he work alone? No, he has 6 or more assistants. What does he write? Well let's just say, it has to be approved by Principal McCluskey before it is allowed to be held up high over head. Has anything ever gotten by the principal that maybe shouldn't have? Ummmmm, unfortunately yes.
Is the white board all there is? Definitely not. Just a word of caution for the opponent, you'd best be served NOT to throw up an air ball early in the game. Even the media would agree. CLICK HERE for the story. Sadly enough, the season has come to a close. Although Tyson's favorite time of year is approaching, I think he would agree that the WHITE BOARD will be missed. Although, I think #21 from Morgan would beg to differ (poor girl). I think she and many others will be happy to say...
Bye-Bye
Board Boy!

Nights like these.

I can't sleep because I am mesmerized by what I see out my window. My family has all turned in and I am alone. It is so quiet as the snowflakes gently tumble down and rest upon the world around me. I can see them through the foggy midst that hovers over the beloved valley I live in.

As I watch, my feet stand still as if they are immovable. And these gorgeous white flakes seem to whisper to me, "Sit. Rest. Don't rush away." And so, I sit. I find myself feeling oddly calm and peaceful. So much so, I can't talk myself into taking the short walk to my bed.

Finally, as I reverently turn to go, pangs of sadness fill my heart ... for I realize that nights like these will soon be gone. Sigh.
