I'm leavin' today...

Yep, that boy
who loves his hometown more than life itself,
is headed out.

He called us from the airport around 6:00 a.m.
We smiled as he reported
what had happened there.

It reminded us why we live here, in...

It's because of ... The Luggage
Ty was worried about the juggling the weight of his luggage because seriously, packing 2 years into two pieces of luggage is a giant feat!

Then he heard Utah say...
"Good Morning Elder!
Let's get those bags on the plane for ya!"
(No need to put them on the scale)

And because of the ... Phone call
Ty was hoping he could figure
out how to use the payphone because
seriously, he's never used one.

Then he heard Utah say...
"Good Morning Elder!
Would you like to use my cell phone
to call home?"
(Businessman, Stranger, Saint)

Well, Tyson sounded
excellent in everyway.
He's so excited to get to New York and
"Start spreadin' the news!"

Ha! Ha! Ha!
In light of that "line", how can I resist
posting the video below?!
I can't, so I will.

Plus, Grandma Hutch thinks the words are so appropriate
and I've gotta agree, you might too...
"Start spreadin' the news..."
"I'm leavin' today... "
"These vagabond shoes..."

I really could go on and on.
In fact, I could teach a lesson using those lyrics.
I won't, but I could.

But one thing I will do is share with you
the the line that almost
ripped the heart out of my chest

"these little town blues..."

Yeah, I cried a little bit when I heard those words.
Ummmmm okay, I may be crying a little bit now.

Speaking of "NEWS"...

Elder Hutchins

Believe it or not,
my emotions are
not in check enough
to blog about
dropping
Tyson off at
the MTC.

So check back.

However, I did want to share something with you.
It's a treasure provided by my dear friend.
Her talent translated
into something that, to me, is absolutely...

Thank you my friend!
I will love you FOREVER!

Heather Kimber can capture your priceless moments too!

Oh and if you want one of those giant missionary tags,
my sweet Carolynn made that for me.
She'll make you one too.

Forever Strong

I've been weeping some, the past few day.

Weeping over ...

For you see, on Sunday, I witnessed a ...
I stood in the church and watched
hundreds of youth
quietly file in, to listen to
a man speak.
The building was filled to capacity.

But instead of a pin,
we heard this man...
Larry Gelwix.

He's the man
whose life is portrayed
in the movie
Forever Strong.

It was a sight to behold.

It was a sight worthy of
weeping.

In front of a group of nearly 700
Larry Gelwix taught two

Choose what team
you're going to play for.

To put it in simple terms ...

If YOU play for Grantsville High,
you would never think of
putting on a Morgan jersey...
NEVER!
And certainly not
in the middle of a game.
Yet, The World would have us
think we can play with
one foot in Babylon and
one in the Promised Land.
The truth is, we canNOT!

It's a big lie!

To quote Coach Gelwix:
"Put the dang jersey on and be proud
of what it represents!"
CHOOSE which team you're going to play for.

Don't play with snakes.

Snakes bite.
We know they're dangerous.
So then if we pick one up,
why are we surprised
when it bites us?
So it is with life.
Snakes... Temptations...
they are everywhere!
We know they're dangerous.
We know they'll hurt us.
And yet, we pick them up
ANYWAY.

And then why are we surprised
when life takes a wrong turn?

WRONG TURNS
are the reason for my
weeping.

The other night I heard a
real life, real serious,
SNAKE story.

In factfor me,
The Snake Story was
Someone lost their dream,
by choosing the wrong team.

Someone gave up
the good things
placed their path.

Someone's life will never
be the same.

Suddenly, it became very real, very personal ...
what happens when you play with
and when you forget what team you're playing for.
I pray YOU will never forget.

I pray YOU will be...
