Live for NOW

This post is dedicated
to my
first born son...

Tyson.

He has an eye single to...
BASEBALL!

He talks of it...
He dreams of it...
He practices it...
He plays it...

EVERYDAY!

Right now, Tyson's life is a dream come true. However, it's the dream he had in little league. He now has new dreams ... dreams of college and scholarships (good dreams). But my prayer for him is that he can enjoy the 8 year old, little league, dream that is now coming true right before his eyes.

Dreams of:
-Playing on the GHS home field
-Playing in that red, white and black uniform
-Playing with the roar of the crowd chanting his name
-Playing with his best friends
-Playing for a coach whom he admires
-Playing for his family, who is at every game
-Playing for teeny-tiny fans who proclaim, "There's Tyson!"
-Playing as a Letterman for GHS
-Playing as a leader on the team
-Playing in, his favorite, #10
-Playing to represent Grantsville High School

... just playing.

Today, my hope for Tyson is that he will realize these are

"THE GLORY DAYS"

They will not last long and soon they will be gone, forever. College will come and who knows what else, but nothing will ever be able to replace the GLORY DAYS of high school.

GLORY, TYSON
GLORY in these moments.
The future will come quick enough.
Live for NOW!
Live for...
COWBOYS BASEBALL!

The Lord will take care of tomorrow.
I promise. -Love, Mom

Oh Krista, your are a phenomenal mother! Your love for your boys SCREAMS out to me. You are "one of those moms" the kind that would give up an organ for one of their kids, jump in front of a bus to save one of them, give up all you have for them...and NEVER not once complain about it. Your the kind of mom I NEED to be. Tyson....dude...nothing can beat the triumphs of high school. Often they are our FIRST triumphs and REAL glories...enjoy them, believe, they are GONE before we know it!

Tyson, LETS BE IN THE MONENT!! LOL. I find it interesting how people are always in such a hurry to get to the next step in their lives. Things like turning 16, graduating, serving a mission, turning 18 and finally being considered an adult. I could go on forever about the things we look forward to throughout our lives but their is something much more important to think about and that is living in the monent. People sometimes are in such a hurry to get to the next step and once their they find them selves wishing they could go back. As your favorite uncle I want to give you one peice of advice. Live your life with no regrets. Don't be one of those people who spend the rest of their lives wishing they could go back and do it all over again. LIVE IN THE MOMENT!!

Ty-
If I may put a slant on a great quote from the "Goonies"....Don't you realize? One day soon you will live in another town, going to college, discovering new things and meeting new people. One day you will drive down Cherry Street and look at the field where you "used to play." But that is not today! Today is YOUR TIME! Your time to PLAY! Your time to HIT, RUN, SCORE! Enjoy your TIME! The future will come soon enough but for now.....JUST PLAY!

TY - Live in the moment and maximize your talents!! When I watch you play, it brings back some great memories, some of which I could go back and replay. Time flies by faster than you can believe... I honestly can't believe you are already 17 years old, you tower over all of us - we look up to you now for the example you are to us and my children!! Take it one step at a time and enjoy yourself. Live it, love it, with no regrets!!

Ty...take it from someone who did not make the most of her HS years...you do NOT want to look back and regret not living in the moment. Take this time and ENJOY it! Tomorrow is another day, a day that can wait, for today you are a Junior in High School...try to maximize that, and simply "live in the moment!" We love you!

Wow...

This made me cry, realizing my days of something that has made up my entire life, and made me who I am today, is almost at an end.

Where did the time go?
I can't believe it is almost all over! The day to put my glove and my ball away, I honestly don't know what I am going to do.

Thank you for this post.

Tyson,

I hope you recognize how much your Mom loves you, she never ceases to amaze me, what a wonderful message she wrote you.

I know you love baseball, I hope you realize that you love the game because of who you get to play it with and the uniform you get to wear.

I love the experience of the game, your so lucky to be able to be a player in that experience and not just a fan like I am. Savor every time you put on the uniform, every at bat, every grounder, every slide, but most of all savor this time playing for the Cowboys.

I'm proud of you because I know how hard you work and it will always be worth it. It may not happen as quickly as you would like and sometimes not even in the way you had hoped, but I promise it will be worth it.

Love your biggest fan!

Krista and Tyson,

I miss the baseball days and I was just the older sister. Have fun and enjoy life. My mom and I were talking about this the other day (I am becoming a mom and she is becoming a grandma!). I am so happy with where my life is right now but occasionally I look back and say what the heck happened to the time -- it truly flies by!

Before I comment for Tyson, I want to thank Krista for posting this. I appreciate this post so much because I too am facing similar struggles in my life. I have spent the last five years doing everything I can to further my career; going to school, taking on extra responsibilities at work, and taking advantage of every training opportunity made available to me. All I want is more! As I spent the evening last night by myself with Easton, I began to realize how much I have sacrificed over those years...playing sports with Hunter, seeing Easton's cute little smile, or laying down to watch a movie with Kristina. I now need to appreciate the GREAT opportunities my employer has provided me and cherish the time I have NOW to spend with my family.

Tyson,

As I sat and read your Mom's post, like everybody else, I could not help but reflect on my life and my High School days. These are times you will always cherish and reflect upon. Live in the moment, RIGHT?

I admire you for all the hard work you have put into baseball and your admiration for wanting to go to the next level...most people are not willing to make to sacrifices you have.

Sports are all about personal development, not just in the sport itself, but in life's challenges. You have an opportunity knocking at your door that will test your character and leadership abilities. If you can go out on the field and have fun, your teammates will follow. Everything else at that point will fall into place.

College coaches are looking for more than statistics, they want to know the challenges you have faced and how you handled them. This is your opportunity to shine. What you learn from this now will carry you much further in life than a great batting average.

I love you and appreciate the example you set for Hunter and Easton, who both admire you soooooo much!

Dear Tyson,
I have tried to leave a comment, and I have been unsuccessful. I'm just not "Blog Savvy" I guess. Maybe this one will be sent. I hope so!
Your Grandpa "Hutch" and I have so enjoyed watching you play sports. We're proud of the way you live your life and the way you pay honor to the name of "Hutchins". We're aware of your hard work, and your hope of being the best baseball player you can be. We hope you find joy in playing. There are so many lessons for life in playing sports. Our advice to you is to reflect on every game you play as you lie down in bed that night, and determine what you learned in that game that will be useful to you in your future.

You have been left good advice about enjoying where you are in life at this time. That has always been a tough lesson for mankind to learn. If you can learn it, you'll be happier for it.

We're so proud of you, but most of all, we love you.
