The REAL Problem

Do you ever feel that when your child says, "Mom, I don't know how to do this math problem ... maybe "the problem" isn't the math at all?

But "the problem" may be the simple fact that your child wants you to sit down with them while they do the math?

I've been feeling a little like this, although it's taken me months to figure it out. But now that I have, I'm good with it... I'll sit.

sometimes, as a mom, it is SO difficult to just sit with your child...between the cleaning, chores, running, errands, and dinner to fix...when the kids come home I often get wrapped up in the "oh great, more work" feeling. But I think you've hit the nail on the head here. Sometimes I think our little ones are just asking us to sit with them...thank you for reminding me of that! ;)

Thank you so much for the reminder of being a listening mom. I appreciate your example.
