Have you ever just STOPPED and asked
"Am I doing the
right thing?"
I'm there today, at an absolute stand-still,"Am I doing the
right thing?"
stopped dead in my tracks with this question:
Is this blog ...
really the right thing?
Is this blog ...
really accomplishing what I hoped it would?
Is it wrong...
that my LIFE is such an open book?
that my CHILDREN lives are such an open book?
that my MARRIAGE is such an open book?
that, often times, my BROTHERS lives are an open book?
Are the words I write to PERSONAL?
Is the love I feel for...
my family being misread as PRIDE?
my GHS being misread as PRIDE?
my little town being misread as PRIDE?
Are the words I write being misread as PRIDEFUL?
Do I...
PREACH to much?
ANNOY instead of uplift?
APPEAR to have more knowledge than I have? Are the words I write offensive to the Lord?
Am I...
doing the right things?
for the right reasons?I thought I was.
Yet, here I stand.STILL.

Hi Kris,
This is an issue so many mommy bloggers have. I had a realization just like this and had to figure out what things I would and would not share. My view is that only you can make that decision. Asking those you write about if they mind helps though.
Here's my entry. It also has tons of good comments from readers:

Good luck with your decision. I hope you keep going. I love reading your entries. My blog is a creative outlet unlike any other for me, and you've encouraged me so many times!
I love your blog, Krista! I think you do a great job on it. If people are misreading your blog as prideful then that is their own problem. If the reader is someone who knows you at all, it is really easy to see that you are not being prideful! So many people tell me that they love to read your blog or that they find out about me from your blog. Because you have so many readers, I really do think that it is a good idea to ask permission before posting about someone other than your husband and children or before posting a link to their blog, though. (Please don't get me wrong, I love it when you post about your dinner dates with Lincoln!) I think your blog is so uplifting and I enjoy how you share your testimony through your everyday activities. Thanks for taking time to do it. :) I love you!
I know as a mother I am probably prejudice, but every time I read your blog it brings a smile to my face and brightens my day.
I do not understand the computer very much but getting on the blog is one thing I can do.
If my children quite blogging I might as well cancel the internet.
We are all proud of our families and friends because they make us happy and they are our entire lives. If I could blog I would be much more "PRIDEFUL" than you because my posterity has grown so much. I would hope that others understand that it is not "PRIDE", as so refer to but simply the blessing for which we've been given and sharing them with others!
You have a great gift to lift others, please not disappoint us,
KEEP BLOGGING!
I love your blog Krista, You always uplift!!I hope you will never stop blogging!!
you ARE doing the right thing! Please don't stop!!
"To you women of today, who are old or young, may I suggest to you that you write, that you keep journals, that you express your thoughts on paper. Writing is a great discipline. It is a tremendous education effort. It will assist you in various ways, and you will bless the lives of many--now and in the years to come, as you put on paper some of your experiences and some of your musings." --President Gordon B. Hinckley
You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experience. --President Gordon B. Hinckley, 2006
I think it's valid to always ask ourselves this question, especially in the world we live in today. But given the world we live in, we definitely need more LIGHT, more LOVE in FAMILIES, more OPEN-NESS about our testimonies and beliefs and MORE GOODNESS...all things that you give through your blog. Your blog is its own little "light on a hill," I think...so good for you!
You know I love, love, love your blog! Not that my opinion counts but I read your blog (and others) to keep in touch with what they are doing, feeling, thinking when I can't see them every day. I may be selfish but I want you to keep blogging. If you decide to stop, then you do....But I will miss it! Love ya sista!
I love your blog too. I think it is the perfect balance between personal stories and uplifting thoughts. I have heard people say good things about your blog. It is creative and fun. It is probably one of the better Mormon mommy blogs. I don't think you should stop.
I love your blog! Sometimes it's just what I need to inspire me. I hope you keep posting your wonderful thoughts for those of us who find exactly what we are needing.
